tractor is in great condtion and runs great too. The motor has on it a
rebuilt 830 fuel pump system put on and injectors were all gone through
too. The transmission had new bearings put
in 2 years ago. It has a cab for it free that goes with it if you want
it or to haul it back. Power Steering that is average for a 80, oil pressure is perfect normal and big motor runs very strong. Was
used for tractor pulling and is loaded up with wts. and this came in
from an estate and is now back at the shop that did the transmission on
it 2 years ago. No PTO but dual hydraulics. Runs
very strong. The main cosmetic needs are minor: Grill screen
needs change, not right muffler on it, tach cable is bad so doesn’t
work and needs a steering wheel. But has 4 all New tires all around with ½ bar tires on back as you can see. Fenders have no rust. Fenders very straight and sheet metal is too. Original paint. Brakes and clutch work good and the generator is rebuilt on it. 1956 Serial # 8000777. AZ. $9,200 firm.

No wear really at all and real tight. Only things it needs to look perfect is the tach doesn’t work and needs paint if you wish and it’d be perfect. “As good a 80 as you'll find anywhere.” AZ $15,900.

New Generation / 1960-1970's Models: 2010
RU Diesel. 1 set of remotes. 1961 Serial #18877.

2520 Diesel 1970 Synchro with great power that runs great, starts real good, has differential lock. 8500 hours and was overhauled around 7,000 right before current owner got it 11 years ago. Hood needs to be fixed up front with dents and it sounds like it would take a while or to get another hood. Fenders have some rust but not rusted through. No oil use at all. 1 remotes set. Only thing that leaks a little is where wire goes in by injector pump. MN / WI area. $7,500.
2520
powershift diesel 1971 that runs great. This hard to find
model has dual remote valves, factory wide front, factory
pre-cleaner, factory ROPS with aftermarket canopy. Very good mechanical
condition, needs paint. Customer has owned this tractor for 12 years
and used for baling and mowing. Hours shows like 2,890 and works. Think it could be accurate but don’t know the history from before. Tractor is real tight and front end and steering too. Not a lot of wear on 3-Point or hitch. Rears are 50%. Hood is real good. Right at front it had some straighten or filler it looks like from before they got it. Side panels all there. $25,000.
3020 Diesel and very hard to find Power Shift 1972 model. Runs great. 7,700 hours. Canopy. Very good mechancial condition, regularily maintained and updated. TN. $26,000
3020 LP side console. 1 of only 126 made. It’s a super clean 3020 LP synchro shift. My
customer ordered a matching rear tire for it and it came in this past
month and both rear tires are excellent and matching tread. One is new and the other is 95%. Same manf. but they have a different brand name on their tires this year I understand. Mechanical and Sheet metal is all very good to excellent. Used it to plow several rounds last month too checking everything out on it. The only mention we see are some minor scratches on the fenders and the temp. guage was replaced with a oem gauge. Everything else is 100% original and everything works 100% including all gauges and lights. No leaks, no welds, no blowby at all and runs great. Power steering, transmission, synchro shift, brakes, clutch all very good or better and tight. Very well taken care of. Just over 5,368 verified hours from 2 local owners and has it’s original tach. 4000 Diesel 1971 Synchro. Runs great, cut about 40 acres of hay last week. 97 HP. Runs out good and strong pulling their 920 cutter and runs clean and strong including up good sized hills. Transmission is tight as you can get. Super tight. Rear tires are real good but mismatched. Only issues
found is a hydraulic leak that is either the PTO value or his best
guess is the seal on the input shaft going into the transmission. PTO had a pretty good wine to it. Customer will fix all that this winter when they have shop time, but would sell it now for $10,300 firm which is all they got into it. The weren’t going to sell it but now also bought a 4230 with cab and air last week so they would sell this 4000 Diesel now. Rear tires are real good but mismatched. TN. $10,300.

Are
antique tractor prices
skyrocketing?
Prices of old tractors have
skyrocketed in the past few years, according to Ageless Iron Almanac. Greg
Petersen, an authority on farm machinery auction prices, says prices are being
driven up by baby boomers who farmed or those who were raised on a farm, but
left to earn their livelihoods working in an office or factory. They are buying
antique tractors as a hobby that reminds them of their rural past. And for some,
apparently, money is no object.
Information compiled by Ageless Iron said a John Deere Deere 60, for example,
has appreciated 315 percent over the past decade. The John Deere 630 has
appreciated, on average, more than 56 percent at auction.
--------
Our updated note for 2010 is that this trend is going to continue
upward due to demand and the static supply of these great tractors not being
made anymore. The Wall Street Journal
has even noted their investment value with a front page article on
collector tractors just a few years back. And when the stock
market crashed 50% in 2008 tractor values held steady and continued to
increase the following year as they always do.
For example on models such as the John
Deere 330 and other harder to find ones like a 420-V they
have literally doubled over the last several years.
